Valentine’s Day is big deal in our hometown of Loveland. More than 160,000 people from all over the world send their Valentines through the Sweetheart City. The light poles around town are decorated with hearts carrying personal Valentine messages. We even select a Miss Loveland Valentine every year.

For this Valentine’s Day, our local brewer, The Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, is releasing a special brew to celebrate. Tenfold gave it a name and then designed a commemorative silkscreened poster. Our friends at Vahalla Studios printed up an edition of 125, which we then hand embossed and numbered. We have a few copies left on our store for $17 + shipping.

Uinta Brewing
You guys have heard a lot about our projects with Uinta Brewing. They’ve been a great client and we churned out a lot of options for them in the initial rounds. We love the end result, but thought it would be a shame to keep these initial rounds to ourselves.

Dancing Pines Distillery
These are some designs we came up with a while ago for Dancing Pines Distillery here in Loveland. Working with craft alcohol is clearly one of our passions and it was great to take a shot at some spirits in addition to beer. We wanted to communicate and sense of adventure and experience. A good bourbon is made to be savored and enjoyed. Much like a beautiful evening, a great conversation, or great accomplishment.

Erion Foundation
We had the privillege of working with local non-profit The Erion Foundation. We love the clean, final concept they went with, but wanted to share some of the bright and upbeat options we presented along with it. We really had some fun with this one. It’s not every day you get to use neon and we had a great time running with it. We wanted to communicate their community impact, a creative and bright spot in the local landscape.

The Welsh Rabbit
The Welsh Rabbit is a gourmet cheese shop coming to Ft. Collins, CO. The owners are really fun folks who absolutely ADORE cheese and the experience of food (we certainly connected on this point). For their initial concepts we focused on creating a mood and experience for the shopper. They wanted to seem hi-end but not inaccessible, and for people to feel comfortable asking questions and discussing the items with the employees. We wanted a bit of the old English style with a touch of quirkyness and personality.

We’re thrilled to be included in Gestalten’s Boxed and Labelled Two, an amazing collection of packaging design from around the world. They were kind enough to feature the designs we did for Grimm Brothers  ‘Hare’s Bride’ Special Release brew. This is a personal favorite of ours because, well, they made it just for us. And, as if being featured wasn’t enough, we were stoked when we opened up the book and found ourselves right next to our Colorado neighbors Moxie Sozo. Great work all around and we’re flattered to be a part.

The Uinta Brewing Co. website has officially launched. For Uinta, it’s all about the beer, so we focused our attention on making sure each beer is beautifully displayed with plenty of information for the interested beer geek. This site is chock full of detail and texture to convey the outdoor Utah lifestyle, as well as the richness and diversity of the Uinta brews.

We made it a priority to achieve full compatibility across multiple current platforms, especially those tricky iOS devices. We wanted the experience on an iPad to be just as good as it is on a desktop.

If you haven’t stopped reading to rush away to meet the most recent Tenfold baby, go now, but be forewarned, it might make you thirsty.

The Matthews House is a Fort Collins-based, non-profit organization that serves at-risk youth ages 16-21 that lack significant family support in their lives. Each year Tenfold donates our design services to help promote the Matthews House’s annual fundraiser event, Hoopla for Hope. We wanted the new poster to feel similar to the previous year so we kept up our use of an illustrated character with creative type.

This year’s event is a 1950’s themed party complete with costume contests, a photo booth, fifties cocktails and gourmet eats, as well as silent and live auctions — all to benefit youth who need support as they transition to living on their own.

The 2011 Governor’s Colorado Tourism Conference happened here in Loveland last week. Over 400 attendees visited our fair city to discuss all facets of the tourism industry including lodging, attractions, ski resorts, gaming, retail, and destination marketing organizations. The City of Loveland asked Tenfold to design 8 10’ by 8’ banners to celebrate the different virtues of our city.

The banners will mostly call the Embassy Suites their home, but will be making occasional trips to trade shows and special events.

A big thanks to The Loveland Museum / Gallery, Sylvandale Guest Ranch, McWhinney, Adam Lum, DRJ Imaging, and the folks at the City for helping us to gather the photography and pull this off so quickly (2 days!). This really was a community effort.

We received a pretty exciting package a few days ago. It was big, yellow, kind of heavy, and contained work from 500 designers worldwide. Tenfold was one of them and we are flattered to see our work alongside some of our contemporary design heros.

Logology2 is the latest collection from Viction:ary that organized 1600 logos into 78 classes. The classes ignore industry categories and instead looks at classifications within basic design principles (think line, shape, and color, as opposed to tourism, medical, or non-profit). The book also contains 15 case studies that walk through the creative process providing insight into how designers think. This is a very fast and good read in spite of its 352 pages.
