Oscium

What is an oscilloscope? We didn’t know either, until we had the opportunity to work with Oscium. They make them. But they make them different. Traditional oscilloscopes are large, cumbersome, and expensive – think big heavy box with a lot of knobs. Oscium has reinvented the oscilloscope to be both portable and affordable by creating hardware that plugs directly into an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Download the app from the app store and you are ready to start taking readings. It is an amazing innovation in their industry.

Oscium came to Tenfold asking for a brand that would visually match the Apple products that they work with while maintaining their unique feel to stand out in the market place. We were happy to oblige creating a mark that spoke to the simplicity of use (clean lines, simple elegant type) as well as their innovative approach to a common hardware (the flame calls to mind the spark of inspiration and innovation). For the product packaging we added pattern and subtle detail to further enforce the feeling of unique simplicity. For the loading screen of the app we had the opportunity to animate the flame and create a small movie. It was a really fun project to do.
