This one has been in the works for a while. We’re excited to release the new identity and website for Plan to Eat. This fantastic website helps you plan your meals, create shopping lists, and store your recipes all in one place. Several Tenfolders are on the plan now and it’s already saved us money and time (plus did we mention we think it looks great?). For this brand, the client knew they needed something that was feminine, since most of the clientele is still women, but also one that’s masculine enough for those meal planning guys out there.
To achieve this elusive combination, we did a lot of research into French typography, which is often frilly and feminine (influencing our complimentary type choices) but is also often found to be simple and sans-serifed (think those amazing old flour sacks with stamped emblems and seals). So we combined these two for a balanced look to suit the demographic.
The website has several levels of functionality so we designed the main website as well as the user interface. We also created all the illustrations. The business cards are locally letterpressed (many thanks to Shelby at Meadowlark Creative) for an organic and hand-crafted feel. It’s a little different as far as business cards go because it only holds the URL and the tag line for the company. No names or email addresses, because when a site promises simple meal planning, everything about the brand should be simplified and straightforward as well. The only little extra was that it was designed with a space that the owner can stamp special deals or promotions for the website. So if you’re lucky enough to find one of these beautiful cards floating around Loveland or Fort Collins, there are multiple reasons to keep it.
